A practice-led research project exploring the spiritual significance of water in relationship to the body, sensed spirituality and somatic informed dance practice; an inquiry carried out as part of MA Dance study. There is a collective element to the study in which experiential movement practice, reflective writing shared in this blog and accompanying video footage of the moving process, alongside an academic thesis, come together to form the investigation.

Beginning a new project; 'we all begin and end in water'
My next project moves away from working with technology (see Butterfly Caught), well not entirely, as I'll use technology such as my blog, film footage, vimeo (etc) to record, share, document, receive feedback on the process. 'The Shape of Water' is a somatic movement exploration looking at the spiritual significance of water with relation to the fluids of the body. I'll be moving with my fluid system while moving in, around, with, close to water, outside in natural environments. 'Every cloud, tree, blade of grass, insect, and animal in view, as well as one's own body, is mostly water' (Olsen: 2002).
